Spring Box Tops for Education (BTFE) and Tyson Project A+ Label Collection Contests

During our fall and winter contests, the North Collins community collected over 1700 Box Tops for Education (BTFE) and Tyson Project A+ labels.

To be eligible for the spring contest, please collect your labels and turn them into your child's teacher by May 14, 2010. The three classrooms and top BOCES classroom collecting the most labels will earn their choice of a pizza party or an ice cream social.

We have collection worksheets for BTFE labels available on our Web pages. Using these worksheets for the submitting the labels really helps our label coordinator count the labels so please utilize and submit—even if the sheet is incomplete. Each student that submits a complete sheet of 25 labels will be entered into a drawing for two $10 Wal-Mart gift cards during each contest period--fall, winter and spring. Make sure you put your child's name, their grade, and teacher's name on each sheet.

We also have a drawing for a $10 gas card that will include teacher's whose classrooms meet their goals. The classroom goals are:

  • 700 labels - Pre-K (AM/PM combined)
  • 500 labels - Kindergarten
  • 440 labels - First and Second Grades
  • 500 labels - Third Grade
  • 600 labels - Fourth Grade
  • 700 labels - Fifth and Sixth Grades
  • 200 labels - BOCES classes

We are now collecting Campbell's Labels for Education so please start clipping labels from these products—Campbell's, Swanson, Pepperidge Farms, Franco-American, V8 (caps), Prego, and Spaghettios. Click on the Campbell's Web page for more information and collection sheets. Save labels and caps to turn inor else drop these off in our Save-a-Lot collection bin. Learn more.

Turn Your Garbage Into Money for the School

The PTA is collecting used CapriSun, Honest Kids, Kool-Aid and generic brand drink pouches. By collecting these, the PTA will receive 1-2 cents per pouch.

We will send these to TerraCycle, Inc., which will turn these into bags, pencil pouches, folders, and more. Their products are available at Target.

It's important that only empty pouches without straws are collected. We are not collecting other types of beverage containers. We have collection bins at school. If collected at home, pouches should be cut at top seam, rinsed and turned in at Save-A-Lot or the elementary school.
