North Collins Celebrates Grand Opening of New Athletic Complex

       On Saturday September 26^th, the North Collins Central School celebrated the official grand opening of their new multi-sport, synthetic turf athletic complex. The event was in conjunction with the Eagles Homecoming Week and the day included soccer games with cross town rival, Eden, an opening ceremony, kid’s games and activities, live music with a chicken barbeque and ended with the traditional homecoming dance. 

       Superintendent Ben Halsey opened the ceremony acknowledging the tremendous effort put forth by the Board of Education and many community members in passing the referendum and thanked the North Collins community for their overwhelming support towards the Eagle athletic program. Additionally, Halsey recognized last years varsity softball and baseball programs who played on the facility for the first time with outstanding seasons, including Coach of the year awards to Jan Warren and Paul Kellner respectively. 

       The facility is a major step forward in the revitalization of the North Collins School District.  The synthetic turf playing surface is the largest synthetic playing surface in Western New York and is unique in that it is designed to host softball, baseball and soccer events. Additional amenities to the facility include full dugouts with power and water, team storage, concessions, bullpens, and state of the art scoreboards and sound system.  In development of the project, all electrical applications for future lighting were buried in construction to assist in making the move towards a lighted facility an easy transition. 

       The Home of the Eagles is a facility the entire North Collins community is very proud of and they would like to invite all of Section 6 and Western New York to come out and take a look.

Do you regularly attend your son or daughter’s soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, or softball games?

Do you have a volunteer spirit?

Would you like to help promote school spirit and enhance the game day experience while watching the game?

Your help is needed for the Varsity Club Concession Stand during any sports season throughout the school year. Any parents of Modified, JV, or Varsity level athletes are welcome to help work the stand during home games at the High School.  Whether during your own child’s game or any other throughout the year, your help would be appreciated so that this successful venture can continue to benefit our athletes.
