Girls JV Softball Highlights On Tuesday, April 6th, the Girls JV softball team opened the 2010 campaign with a 16-10 victory over visiting Dunkirk. Jessica Lawton earned the win on the mound, striking out 5 players and collecting 3 hits and 3 RBI’s. Abby Richmond tied for the team lead, with 4 hits and 3 runs. Jessica Casali added 2 hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI’s. A solid game was played by all.
On Monday, April 12, the JV Softball team improved their record to 2-1 with a victory over visiting Silver Creek 15-6. Jessica Lawton led the team with 3 hits, 4 runs and 6 RBI, including a grand slam and a solo home run. She earned the victory on the mound striking out a season high, 12. Bria Scagnelli added 2 hits while Jessica Casali, Rachel Gates, Mollie Gleason, Brianna Flynn, & Ashley Trainor knocked out 1 hit each. Nicole Mason, Nicole Ulrich and Kylie Troidl added 2 runs and 1 run respectively. The Team travels to Gowanda on Thursday and plays host to Ripley on Friday.
On Tuesday, April 27th, the NC Girls JV Softball team got back on track with a victory over visiting Ellicottiville, 15-8. Their record now stands at 3-3. Christine Blidy, Rachel Gates and Jessica Casali led the team with 2 hits each, combining for 7 runs. Jessica Lawton earned the victory on the mound, striking out 18 and allowing only 4 hits.
On Monday, 5/3- The Girls JV softball team got back on the winning track with a 16-8 victory over host Ellicottville. It was a total team effort. The eagles were led by Mollie Gleason, who had 4 hits and 2 RBI’s. Veronica Richardson added 2 hits, single and double and 3 RBI’s. Jessica Casali, Bria Scagnelli, Abby Richmond, Ashley Trainor, Olivia La Forme, Kylie Troidl, and Syhan Hidy added 1 hit each. The team now sits at 5 and 4. We travel to Gowanda on Thursday.
On Monday, May 10th, the Girls JV Softball team improved their record to 6-5 with a dramatic 11-10 come from behind victory. The Eagles were down after one inning and 6-1 after 3 full innings. The comeback was on! Rachel Gates' single and Christine Blidy, taking one off the foot, got the rally going. Veronica Richardson smacked a two run single, scoring Christine Blidy and Rachel Gates, to cut the lead to 6-4. Jessica Lawton walked, to start the fifth inning and Rachel Gates came through again with a single followed by Mollie Gleason’s RBI single and Veronica Richardson drove in her third run of the game with a single up the middle. The Eagles took a 11-8 lead to the seventh inning and hung on with the tying run at third base. It was a sold team effort from start to finish. Thank you for the fan support.
On Tuesday, May 25th, the Girls JV softball team finished up the 2010 campaign with a 9-4 victory over visiting Brocton. The team ended the season with a 7-7 record. We pounded out eleven hits with Jessica Lawton, Rachel Gates, Abby Richmond and Ashley Trainor collecting two hits apiece. Jessica Casali, Melissa Elliott an Veronica Richardson collected one hit each. Celine Eppolito drove in two runs in the game, tying for the team lead. The Eagles had to work for this victory, as the Bulldogs took a 4-3 lead entering the bottom of the 5th, but the Eagles put on their hitting shoes, scoring six runs on sic hits in the inning to take the lead for good. Jessica Lawton finished the game with 11 strikeouts and only allowing three hits in the victory. Congratulations to all, on a fine season. Coach Fininzio. Back to Top
