Substitute teachers are required to take attendance in their classrooms, just as staff members do. In order to do so, please follow the directions below:

1. Log on to the teacher computer. Obtain the login and password in yellow the Substitute Teacher folder located in each classroom.

2. Log in to Powerschool. You may obtain the password from the Main Office.

3. You should now be at the PowerSchool Attendance log on screen. Click on the drop down arrow to the right of Select the school and then click on the correct school. The school name should now be in the “School:” field.

4. Click on the drop down arrow to the right of Select the teacher and then click on the correct teacher name. The teacher name should now be in the “Teacher:” field.

5. Click the mouse in the Password field. Type in the password (obtain from the Main Office the morning of your assignment) and click on the enter button or press the enter key. You should now be at the attendance page for the teacher you selected.

6. To take attendance:

  • Click on the chair icon.
  • Choose the appropriate attendance code from the “current attendance code” pop-up menu.
  • Click the cell next to each student that is absent or tardy to insert the code you chose from the pop-up menu.
  • Click Submit

7. Click on the logout button in the upper right hand corner when you are done.
