Dear Students, Families, Faculty, and Community,
Welcome back to another exciting year here at North Collins Central School District! It’s an incredible honor to begin my 10th year as superintendent, and I’m deeply grateful for the privilege of serving this special community. Each fall brings fresh opportunities to learn, connect, and grow—and I’m eager to see all that our students and staff accomplish together.
This summer, our tireless maintenance, custodial and transportation teams, led by Mr. Matt Sanders and Mr. Al Durrett, prepared our departments and buildings/grounds for your return. I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to them and everyone who worked diligently over the summer—I know the effort it takes to get our district ready!
We have completed Phase 2 of our May 2022 Capital Project. We are currently planning and preparing for our next Capital Project vote in May 2026. As in the past, we are preparing for items that pose health and safety risks across the district and enhancements that support our mission of ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment for all. We continue to adhere to the State’s mandate to maintain our facilities to meet educational, health, safety and security measures. We take pride in the upkeep of our buildings and grounds and our district-owned facilities are one of our community’s greatest assets. A proposed Capital Project will be paid for from the District’s Debt service and Capital Project reserve fund. There will be NO additional cost to taxpayers!
Safety remains our top priority. This summer, we installed safety film (funded by the Smart Schools Bond Act) on the first floor of nearly each window and door at the Elementary and Jr.-Sr. High School and we continue to our commitment to maintaining a secure campus for all staff, students, and visitors.
Our Board of Education continues to chart our course forward—bringing positive guidance and engaged dialogue into every decision. We’re grateful for their leadership and for the strong community voice that supports our work.
We have a calendar full of academic milestones, arts performances, athletics, and community events. Be sure to follow our website and social channels for the latest updates and announcements. Families, thank you for entrusting us with your children’s education. Staff, thank you for bringing your passion and dedication to our halls every day.
I look forward to seeing you throughout the year—Welcome back!
Scott J. Taylor, Superintendent
